PT Asuransi Astra Buana - AAB or more popularly called Asuransi Astra (Astra Insurance) is the general insurance subsidiary company of the country's largest diversified conglomerate PT Astra International Tbk (Astra Group). Astra Insurance provides a full range of insurance products and services, including retail insurance, health insurance, commercial and sharia insurance. Astra Insurance was first established in 1956 as PT Maskapai Asuransi Buana. The name of PT Asuransi Astra Buana was launched in 1990. Astra Insurance is based in South Jakarta and has 26 branch offices throughout Indonesia. The financial performance of Astra Insurance in 2013 showed a good improvement. Total gross premium grew by 23.38% fro Rp 3,056 billion in 2012 to Rp 3,771 billion in 2013. Total assets continue to grow by 9.93% to Rp 8,564 billion from Rp 7,790 billion in 2012.
